Louise studied piano, violin and voice in Victoria, Vancouver, Prince George, Burns Lake and Winnipeg.
Teaching Experience:
Louise has been teaching privately for more than 30 years. She taught Music for Young Children for six years before returning to teaching in the public schools. Louise taught music in the school in her capacity as a classroom teacher from 2000 to 2015. For three and a half years, she was the music specialist at an elementary school in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Louise is a Certified Teacher with the Royal Conservatory and listed in the National Registry http://www.rcmusic.ca/teacher-directory
Community involvement:
Louise was the president and piano coordinator for the Lakes District Festival for almost 20 years. She has successfully prepared students from beginner to Grade 10 Royal Conservatory practical exams and to Advanced Rudiments theory exams. She was the site coordinator for RCM in Burns Lake. Louise has led a number of school children's choirs, group violin lessons in school settings and directed musicals in both churches and schools. Louise has participated in church worship groups as organist, pianist and has sung in ensembles (duets, trios, choirs) or as a soloist from the age of 14. Louise has directed church adult choirs and musicals and co-directed the Viva L'Italia choir in Winnipeg with her husband Flavio Cianflone.
Louise is enjoying being involved with the musical community of Nanaimo.
